How Does an Agency become a United Way of Medina County Partner?
The United Way believes that partnerships provide a dynamic, postive force for change. The
United Way maintains an open door policy with regard to application for funding. Established 501 (c) 3 human service agencies are welcome to submit requests for admission on an ongoing basis. Programs that address critical issues in the community and that are not already being met through existing programs are given top priority. Contact Julie King at
jking@unitedwaymedina.org
for application details.
In 2000, two new agencies were admitted; Operation:HOMES, a countywide, church-based homeless shelter, and Cathy's House, a sober house for recovered alcoholics. In 2001, Faith In Action, Medina County Caregivers was accepted as a United Way agency. They provide home assistance services to the senior population throughout the county through the use of volunteers from 18 churches. In 2002 we admitted the Rape Crisis Center of Medina County. Medina Creative Housing was admitted in 2006, providing affordable housing for the MRDD and physically challenged population. Our newest partner is Mobile Meals of Akron.
Our local presence and intimate understanding of community help us build lasting partnerships.
Great results come from working together.
